Apatite-(CaF) (formerly Fluorapatite)
Apatite-(CaF) (formerly fluorapatite), as delicate sparkling mauve prisms to 8 mm, together with interesting plates of golden siderite, and a few quartz crystals. Very showy — collected from UTM 268041, Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada by the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) the summer of 1979. Includes original GSC label. Apatite-(CaF) (formerly fluorapatite) as grayish-clear crystals to 1.5 cm x 1.3 cm, from the type locality, Ehrenfriedersdorf, Saxony, Germany. Accessories include dolomite crystals, and black unidentified coating. Probably collected about 1800. Specimen has two old labels attached on the bottom: one painted white (562), the other glued-on green paper (2371). An interesting, very old specimen.
