Baddeleyite, as a 1 cm beige to white crystalline mass verified by XRD by GSC, in vug on barite in pegmatite cutting Devonian limestone. From the long-closed Francon Quarry, St. Michel, Montreal Island, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Accessories include calcite, fluorite, dawsonite, a sulfide, an amphibole.

This specimen measures about 10 cm x 6 cm x 4.5 cm.

Exceptionally large and attractive Baryte crystal from the Tringspat, Styggedal, Tråg, Bamble, Norway; collected in 1960, this specimen is made up of a single brilliant, glassy baryte crystal, honey yellow on the outside, zoned to colorless in the middle. This complex baryte crystal from Norway is nearly perfect with some tiny contact points visible on close inspection. Shows well. University label included.

This crystal measures about 11.3 cm x 4.2 cm x 2.8 cm.

Honey-yellow nearly square plate-like crystals to 2 cm. Crystals up to 3.5 mm thick. Nice showy piece from the Rock Candy Mine, Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada Collected before 1977. Growing on what appears to be the edge of a part of a barite "geode". Very showy.

Belyankinite

Belyankinite occurs as a beige layer of up to 8 mm thick on amphibole. Belyankinite is believed to be a metasomatic alteration product of loparite. This cabinet specimen is from the type locality (in fact, the only locality), Karnasurt Mount, Lovozero Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmansk District, Russia. Received in exchange with Dr. Barsonov, Fersman Geological Museum, Moscow, June 1976. Specimen includes the original Fersman label. Back and two edges have been saw-cut — the material is quite fragile.
