Danburite

Wonderful example of totally clear, colorless Danburite in an unusual habit. The specimen is a mass of danburite crystals with several emerging prominently. The largest sticking out is about 1.7 cm while the largest lying across the mass is about 3 cm. From Charcas, San Luis Potsi, Mexico. Includes a lose 1.5 cm crystal that fell off the mass — the buyer can easily repair if desired. Collected before 1978.

This specimen measures about 4.3 cm x 3.5 cm x 4.6 cm.

Descloizite from the Bergaukas Mine, sometimes given as the Berg Aukas Mine, Grootfontein, Namibia (South-West Africa), collected in the mid 1970's. This photo shows the back of the specimen, lightly dulled with clay. The deep reddish-brown "arrowhead" crystals on the opposite side simply sparkle, and seems impossible to do justice to in a picture!

Diopside var. Chromian Diopside is from the now closed Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada from the mid 1970's. This handsome specimen has hundreds of micro chrome diopside crystals, clustered around grains of accessory chromite. Most of the specimen is colorless diopside felted crystals.

This specimen measures about 4 cm x 3 cm x 1 cm.

This colorful specimen has hundreds of micro chrome diopside bladed crystals, with some accessory grains of chromite and hessonite garnet. Most of the specimen is colorless diopside felted crystals.

The brownish hue is actually a secondary growth of tiny crystals on the primary crystal growth. An unusual example from this interesting locality.

Dioptase from Tsumeb, Namibia, (South-West Africa) and collected in the 1970's, this dioptase specimen consists of several outstanding crystals on calcite.

This specimen measures about 4.5 cm x 2.6 cm x 2 cm. The largest perfect crystal is 1.0 cm long.

This unusual Dioptase specimen is from Tsumeb, Namibia, (South-West Africa) and was collected before 1980. Each crystal face consists of fine parallel striations instead of the more usual glass-smooth faces. Depending upon the face, the striations are aligned parallel to a different crystal axis, likely indicative of unusual paragenesis. Accessories include calcite, possible volborthite and others.

This interesting specimen measures about 3.7 cm x 3.3 cm x 1.6 cm. The largest crystal is about 7 mm long.

This attractive pinkish beige dolomite is from the Hoxie, Arkansas, USA locale, and is a tidy miniature, without matrix. The crystals are curved saddle-shaped and are up to 1 cm across. This specimen was collected before 1976.
