Eudidymite

Mineral # 347 Available
This exciting, amazing Eudidymite specimen is a huge mass of colorless Eudidymite crystals, together with minor aegerine crystals, from its type locality, Lille Arø, Langesundsfjord, Norway. The interesting part of this offering is the specimen's provenance. First, what is perhaps the original field collection label on a scrap of paper (probably from 1885-1887 period), a hand-written analysis and paragenesis label, a specimen display label, a detailed label from the Norwegian School of Mines including a record that it was transferred to the Min. Geol. Mus. Oslo in 1961 — I got it in trade from them in 1976! Fascinating too is how the name of the mineral changed over time, along with the name of the locality! This is both a fine specimen and a piece of early mineralogical history. It needs a good home!
This specimen measures about 6.2 cm x 4.2 cm x 4.3 cm.
Eudidymite # 347 – Price: $US 750.
